NATURAL HISTORY
I love the variety of forms and colors that nature displays in its wide range of organisms. The petals of a delicate columbine give as much cause for jubilation as the yellow eyes of a red fox. The muted hues of a forest floor beckon to be explored, the detritus loaded with funghi, microscopic bacterial organisms, spiders, ants, and a host of other living matter. Each ecosystem is different, montane to desert floor, smooth silky bark to spiny cacti, rich verdant greens to dry papery browns. The sun plays the role of lighting director, changing the colors throughout the day. Seeing is believing, believing is caring enough for preservation, preservation is the ultimate goal.
